The True Story of The Three Little Pigs Challenge
Save your structure from Alexander T. Wolf's big, bad, sneeze!

Picture
Our problem: How can we build a structure to protect our little piggy that the big bad wolf can't blow down?

The story: We read "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith.

The Challenge: Using only newspaper, masking tape, and wooden blocks, students had to design a structure that would stand up, not blow away, and keep the little pig inside safe.

We used a hairdryer (aka Alexander T. Wolf) to test our results. In the end, most of the structures withstood the power of the "sneeze" however, what I appreciate in doing a design challenge is seeing student ingenuity, perseverance, and camaraderie!

"I knew if I didn't put enough tape on it, it would just fall down. So I put a lot of tape on it."- Jeremy, 1st grade student
